ABB Compact Secondary Substation , CSS is a prefabricated substation, designed, tested and ready for installation, fully compliant with IEC 62271-202 (IEC 61330). Our compact substations have been designed to the highest possible standards of personal safety and aesthetics, and are intended to help solve the problems of footprint and space limitations that occur in dense urban load centres.

Advanced construction for CSS enclosures
The outdoor CSS enclosure is manufactured from high quality pre-galvanised sheet steel. This provides high resistance to corrosion. This is of paramount importance in outdoor applications. The CSS is typically divided into three compartments for – medium voltage switchgear, low voltage switchgear and distribution transformer. The removable roof with ventilation opening is beam supported and bolted at each corner.

The enclosure wall panels, roof and doors are manufactured from standard modular components.
