This function creates a “safe segment”, which is managed locally by the UR20-PF-O safety supply module. Safety rated inputs are used in conjunction with pulse inputs to detect wire breaks and short circuits. These safety power modules go beyond standard safety relays and provide real-time feedback on which safety circuit has failed.

The ABB UAC389AE02 HIEE300888R0002 can be used in complex automation solutions by cascading multiple safety supply modules. Safe Power Modules are available with 1 input, 2 inputs or 2 inputs with delays, providing cost savings for a wide range of safety-related equipment. One UR20-PF-O module can manage up to 12 switchable output modules, while more expensive system designs require a safety module for each output module. Safety ratings of SIL 3 CL according to DIN EN IEC 62061 and 4 PL e according to DIN EN ISO 13849-1 provide a high level of machine safety protection.

The module also allows direct measurement of the resistance with individually programmable filtering times. x20AP3161 energy measurement module is equipped with three voltage inputs up to 3x 480 VAC and four current inputs for connection to an external current measuring device with s 333 mV output. The module measures the effective, reactive and apparent power of the three phases separately and all phases simultaneously. The power consumption and total power of each phase are also recorded.
