The series 90-70 programmable controllers are advanced products in the GE intelligent platform controller series. New design and manufacturing technologies have been adopted, making system configuration and installation simple. The rack bus adopts an open VME bus structure, which can be compatible with third-party VME products. The CPU module comes in a series of different performance specifications to meet various large-scale and complex high-speed control requirements. This system uses GMR system specific controller products.
In this scheme, the GMR triple redundant controller adopts three independent CPUs, which can be configured to operate in 3-2-1-0 or 3-2-0 modes to meet the needs of different applications for users. The system provides high reliability and error free operation through a vote of 2 out of 3. In addition, the GMR triple redundant controller’s physically decoupled design and separated structure circuit protection can fundamentally eliminate the potential for common mode failure.
In order to communicate with the DCS system for process control, Modbus RTU slave communication interfaces are reserved on each voting controller to achieve communication between the DCS system and the ESD system. The DCS system serves as the master station for Modbus RTU communication, and the ESD system serves as the slave station for Modbus RTU communication.
