The supply current enables the ISL32704E to run at maximum speed in a QSOP package without overheating. On the non-isolated control side, the ISL32704E supports a direct connection to a 3V microcontroller, while the isolated bus side connects to a higher-voltage 5V power supply to transmit strong bus signals over distances of 100 meters or more.

The GE IS220PSVOH1B transceiver utilizes Giant Magneto Resistive (GMR) technology to provide current isolation, shielding the communication bus from common mode noise generated in electrically noisy factory and building automation environments.The ISL32704E is suitable for device-to-bus interfaces in IIoT networks, connecting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to instruments, robots, and motor drives, data acquisition, and digital I/O modules. The module is fully compliant with the EN 50081 and EN 50082-2 electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards, as well as the protective line voltage standard for information technology equipment (ITE) EN 61000.
