Description
IC698CPE030 Massive Integrated Chip
IC698CPE030 Baseboard based microcomputers can be used for data acquisition, process control and different R&D projects, but generally they are not embedded as intelligent components in devices due to their excessive size. In the 1980s, computer boards were limited by large-scale integrated chips, and integrated circuits took over the entire computer board market due to their advanced performance, which later evolved into microcontrollers or DSPs. pc/104 and pc/104-Plus modules tended to consist of standard pc desktop and laptop components with embedded Linux support.
The IC698CPE030 adds a PCI bus using a board-to-board bus (120-pin). For PC-based non-desktop embedded systems, the IC698CPE030’s use of PC chip-level and peripheral compatibility enables lower cost, simpler architecture, and easier support, and its PC compatibility provides the advantages of a PC operating system (MS-DOS, Windows, Linux), language, and tools.
With the IC698CPE030 new interfaces (USB, FireWire, Bluetooth), architectures (MIPS, PowerPC, ARM), and operating systems (RTLinux, RTEMS), embedded single board computer (SBC) platforms are better able to serve embedded modular real-time systems:
-Increased embedded intelligence, with many applications requiring user-friendly graphical and voice interfaces;
-Increased demand for electronic devices that require interconnections (TCP/IP, PPP, HTTP, FTP);
-USB is replacing serial, parallel and PS/2 interfaces, Ethernet is everywhere and FireWire (IEEE-1394) is starting to be used;
-Processors (highly integrated application-oriented systems on chip based on ARM, MIPS, PowerPC and x86);
