Description
MVAJ21L1GB0771B Motion Controller
The company’s new PLC has promising applications. It is particularly well suited to large-scale process control applications where, for example, the controller can provide the same level of performance as an industrial PC, but with greater robustness. Advanced multi-axis motion control systems are another major target, with the module capable of controlling more than 64 axes of motion in a 1 ms cycle. Versatile communication and security capabilities are also suitable for “remote control” or SCAD monitoring and control and data acquisition applications in areas such as power system monitoring and control. The inherent robustness of the controller, the availability of ruggedised variants, and the simple way of integrating advanced safety – also make the new PLC ideally suited to today’s most difficult applications, from maintenance-free controllers in applications such as wind turbines, or remote SCAD nodes in deserts or arctic regions, to safety-critical applications in equipment such as cranes, mining cranes, or automated guided vehicles.
The MVAJ21L1GB0771B is compatible with a range of expansion modules, offering unlimited flexibility for industrial control and monitoring applications. Another variant of the available modules can be used to control equipment operating in harsh conditions and extreme climates. The XC or “Extreme Condition” version of the PLC further adds protection against a wide range of threats to reliability, including high and low temperatures, high humidity, low atmospheric pressure, salt spray and hazardous gases, as well as vibration and shock. This can dramatically reduce the cost of building industrial control systems by eliminating the need for advanced protective enclosures with special seals, HVAC, shock absorbers, electromagnetic protection, etc. In response to the increasing complexity of industrial control applications and the rapidly growing cost of software development, the new PLC is compatible with abb’s Automation Builder programming capabilities.
