The circuit input tool used in this design is the Composer from Cadence Company. During design, convert HDL descriptions into circuit descriptions and input them into Composer. Then, formal verification is used to ensure that the designed circuit is consistent with the RTL code. The quality of circuit design largely depends on the designer’s experience and skills.
The custom design of circuits mainly refers to manually designing transistor level circuits in the Composer environment. The determination of circuit parameters is assisted by Synopsys’ circuit simulation tool Hspice. Input the network table extracted from the designed circuit into Hspice, simulate and calculate the circuit delay, and then modify the parameters of the MOS transistor based on the delay.
In order to reduce the workload of fully customized design, circuit design needs to establish a modular microarchitecture. The basic unit of CP0 is determined as follows: the basic CP0 register (clock upper edge synchronization register); 32-bit comparator; 32-bit adder; Select one more selector (including 2 out of 1, 3 out of 1, and 4 out of 1 MUX); Driver (i.e. inverter; its size is parameterized to adapt to different driving requirements).
