Applications for the GE RS-FS-9001 range from simple distance measurements, complex dimensional measurements, presence control and localisation of hidden objects (e.g. behind packaging or plastic sheeting) to precise positioning of machines in multiple dimensions and collision obstacle detection avoidance. The browser-based configuration software has an intuitive, user-friendly user interface and numerous features that make commissioning the sensors very easy. For example, the reflections (peaks) of the radar signal can be visualised in the software. The intelligent “peak selection” algorithm selects the desired target object and hides others with just one mouse click. The peaks can be sorted by signal strength or distance. In addition, dynamic or linear thresholds can be defined.

Thanks to its powerful, insensitive radar technology and intelligent radar algorithms, the OndoSense apex delivers highly accurate and reliable measurements, even for dirt, smoke, vapour, rain, snow, high temperatures, low light conditions, flashing lights or rough surfaces. With its dustproof, waterproof housing (IP 67/IP 69K) and durable PTFE lens, the rugged rangefinder radar is ideal for challenging production environments. For extreme conditions, the heavy-duty housing offers maximum protection against heat or dust by means of water cooling and compressed air supply.
